What I do
A counselling psychologist is trained to doctoral level in multiple schools of psychotherapy (existential, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and person-centred). This lets me listen differently, and tailor a therapy to you.
I offer a safe, straightforward, warm, and analytical space to people in London and around the world. Clients often come to me with problems that haven't responded to previous treatments or therapy. I like to solve these problems alongside you, as we notice your own unique way of being and seeing things.
This approach is sometimes called 'phenomenological', because it works by understanding the phenomena of your inner life from your own point of view. This is also what makes the recovery meaningful and sustainable for you: it is yours.
My clinical experience is in NHS, bereavement and community services, and I work with clients of all kinds in my private practice.
My research and practice sees people transforming their lives into therapeutic experiences, on their own terms, outside the therapy room. Therapy is a radical and creative art, brave in its honesty and generous with its energy. You can take the skills home with you.

Alongside my clinical practice, I teach psychotherapy and I give talks and workshops for groups who would like to make use of psychological techniques in work and life. I write novels about resilience and recovery from trauma, and I write non-fiction about therapy.
